News A Great Cause: Epworth HealthCare’s Thailand Bike Ride 2016

22 April 2015
Thailand Bike Ride - annual fundraiser for Epworth HealthCare

At Bizwear, we are lucky to work with healthcare providers who are changing the shape of their industry. Epworth HealthCare is one of them who, while operating as a not for profit organisation, provide innovative treatments and services. To keep these innovations moving forward, they organise fun, health focused fundraisers that bring people together through activity and fitness.

Earlier in March, they put on the successful Epworth Fun Run which raised $8000 for cancer support services at Epworth. Now, they are looking forward to the Epworth Cycling Challenge in Thailand, held next February 2016. This event will be the cycling experience of a lifetime, with the added benefit of raising money for a great cause. Here is some more information on the event from our friends at Epworth Healthcare:

An Information Night on Epworth’s Cycling Challenge in Thailand next February will be held on Thursday 28 May at 6.00pm in the Library, Level 5 Cato Wing, Epworth Richmond at 89 Bridge Road.

This fundraising cycling challenge ventures from Bangkok along the narrow Isthmus of Kra to the beautiful island of Koh Samui. Scheduled from Saturday 6 to Monday 15 February 2016, the itinerary includes cycling along back roads, through national parks and fishing towns, alongside great beaches, staying in stunning resorts and all the time enjoying awesome Thai Cuisine. You don’t need to be a highly experienced cyclist to join in as the terrain along the Gulf is mostly flat.

The total trip cost is $5990 which includes $2500 in fundraising towards cardiac services at Epworth. Participants can choose to pay for the trip outright and receive a tax deduction for the fundraising component or fundraise using our online fundraising partner. The cost includes airfares, accommodation, meals, guides, well-maintained bikes and a support vehicle.
