Tigers: the seamless fit for our third party logistics
After a period of growth 3 years ago, it was time to engage a global partner for Belgravia Apparel’s (formerly Bizwear) third party logistics (3PL) to take on special projects. Put simply, 3PL is outsourcing your warehouse operations and having an external business pick, pack and dispatch customer orders.
3PL solutions can also extend to a next-generation logistics service model called 4PL: providing additional services to your customers such as billing and receipt of payments, sourcing from suppliers and more.
The perfect partner for our 3PL was Tigers Logistics, based in Hong Kong, who we selected to manage the pick, pack and dispatch a leading supermarket retailer’s annual uniform rollout to 85,000 Team Members.
We have now completed 3 annual rollouts with Tigers, and are working on more customer opportunities together.
Serving our customers better with innovation
Every year, the coordination and management planning partnership between Bizwear and Tigers has led to a trouble-free execution of our client’s rollout. Team member orders have been dispatched to each client’s store, in each state, via a Distribution Centre ‘cross docking’ activity, on time!
Planning includes coordinating the arrival of stock at Tigers’ Shanghai warehouse from our Chinese factories, the integration between Belgravia Apparel’s online ordering platform and Tigers’ warehouse management system – together with a visit by Belgravia Apparel’s National Logistics Manager to Shanghai to ensure everything runs to plan. This means lower costs, which are then passed on to our client.
In 2019, the annual rollout became a little more complicated because we included the biannual ordering of safety footwear and uniforms together – but again the rollout was a great success.
We’re looking forward to the future, having learned from these global experiences and developed skills and opportunities to explore more Asia Pacific-based opportunities going forward.
